I was assigned to teach a class of second year students how to make tailored buttonholes, and while preparing to teach I made quite a few buttonholes myself, since it has been a few years since the last time I made them. They’re still not perfect, but a lot better. :)

These are tricky - especially by hand. Is this large to show and tell - or is it just a very close photo? Do they learn how to use a buttonholer on the machine later? Excellent skill to learn but easy to make a mess as well I suspect.
ReplyDeleteHello Annette,
ReplyDeleteIt is a very close photo, the buttonhole is a normal size.
The students usually make the buttonholes on a sewing machine, that is much easier to do than sewing by hand, which takes a lot of practice to master. ;)
