6, My lesson
I was assigned to teach a class of second year students how to make tailored buttonholes, and while preparing to teach I made quite a few buttonholes myself, since it has been a few years since the last time I made them. They’re still not perfect, but a lot better. :)
5, Still the skirt
This picture shows a student at the serger, finishing the edges after completing the pockets. One of the students managed to finish her skirt this day, zipper, lining, buttonhole, hand sewn hem and all. Impressive. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the finished skirt.
4, Continuing with the skirt
This picture shows the pocket after the second seam is sewn and the lining of the pocket is turned towards the back of the fabric.
3, Making a skirt
Today’s assignment was to learn how to make a skirt. The teacher had prepared a pattern in size 92 (2 yrs) because she wanted the students to be able to finish faster than with a full size skirt. Most of the details are still the same, only smaller in size.
After cutting out the pattern pieces, the students started sewing the front pockets. This picture shows the first seam already sewn, and a student cutting small slits in the seam allowance to be able to turn the lining of the pocket.
