4. Creative process


This student is in the middle of the creative process. It is amazing to see the process from idea to the finish product. But I think it is hard to know when I am supposed to stop the student from doing mistakes and when I have to let the students do their own mistakes and lerning that way.

  1. Yes Malin! Learning from mistakes is sometimes a very tiresome process. I know many teachers in VET work with the method question-based (also called inquiry-based) learning. What are your experiences from that? Maybe Linda and Stephan have some views on this too

  2. I agree Ingrid - it is a tricky issue as you are torn between offering advice (and saving materials and time) and letting them learn by discover and mistakes.
    What kind do other floristry teachers use?

  3. I think that the teachers I have seen often let the students do mistakes. My problem is that I want the students to do a perfekt work. But I realize that the most important thing is that the student learn and hopefully do better next time.

  4. I totally agree on the problem of not helping too much... It's so easy to interfere a little to help out, meaning the result probably will be better, but the learning experience will be less...
